Johnstown, Pennsylvania 2000 to 2008
LVT would appear to be a natural fit for the struggling post-industrial city of Johnstown, PA. New Item: LVT study concludes persuasively that now is the time for LVT in Johnstown. This study, completed in August, 2008 also demonstrates that the padded "menu" of tax choices for the city adds to an economic environment that is not welcoming to business or homeowner. The rates are high in Johnstown and either non-existent or very small in surrounding communities. This reality makes people go elsewhere when they build in the Cambria County area or ask for expensive tax breaks at the expense of seniors, the poor and the retired.

- The latest study of LVT shows a positive impact for the vast majority of residential properties, and benefits for developed and operational non-residential properties. The large number of taxable vacant lots - owned by absentees for the most part - at last pay their fair share for the infrastructure, services and hard work of both private citizens and the city government of Johnstown. With tax base shrinking and traditional revenues shrinking, land values must become the "go to" primary source for city revenue.
