UrbanTools Trustee Challenges Common Wisdom
Dr. Herbert Barry III a Trustee for the Center for the Study of Economics published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Dr. Barry, a long-time advocate for land value taxation and sensible taxation at all levels of government makes a good case in a letter to the editor in Friday's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Urging taxation of land values at not only the local level with the property tax, but also at the national level by taxing unearned increments in capital gains, dividends and estates.
Taxing the economic rent of land (described succinctly by UrbanTools Trustee Dr. Bill Batt) so that everyone is economically free to do what they are able is the bedrock of what Urbantools' mission is with research and implementation advice.
