Philadelphia Public Record Embraces Land Value Tax
Using HGFA and CSE data, the Public Record made a strong case for adopting LVT in Philadelphia.
Entitled, The Tax Way to GO the editor of the Philadelphia Public Record endorses a quick shove of public and private vacant land into the tax rolls. Since the real estate bubble was of course land value bubble, increasing the supply of available land will make prices cheaper, and attract the few sparks of economic activity left in our region.
In tandem with a land-based real estate tax; Philadelphia can come through the current economic crisis solvent and well-positioned.
