Irish Architect Builds a New Vision
Like other recent developments, the concept and implementation of land value taxes a way to match the bust in Ireland, as well as a way to escape wage taxation makes the Irish TImes, once again.
James Pike, the past President of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland and current president of the Urban Forum has come out strong organizationally for a new site values tax to help Ireland recover from its long hangover brought on by speculation on land values. Our colleagues at FEASTA were instrumental in getting the concept considered.
The Urban Forum is made up of five bodies representing the professionals in the Irish construction industry: Engineers
Ireland (IEI); Irish Landscape Institute (ILI); Irish Planning Institute (IPI); Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland
(RIAI) and the Society of Chartered Surveyors (SCS).
